"Smile" 10x20 Storyboard

*Click on Image to View Larger*
I am (slowly) working on decorating my house. I made this storyboard for my little boy's playroom. I created it as a 10x20, but it could be easily resized to a 5x10, or an 8x16. I have seen lots of 8x16 frames at my local Wal-Mart, and when I print 5x10's, I have them mounted on foam core and put them on easels on shelves.

It's super easy to change the color of the blocks with the hue/saturation dialog, so you can customize the colors for your own home decor. (Maybe someday I will have a little girl and I'll make a fun pink one!) The fonts I used were Kravitz (available at dafont.com ) and Suzy's Hand.

The template should work with almost any version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. When you open the file, you will not see anything. You must turn on the layer visibility for each layer in the layers palette to see the page elements. The layer visibility is indicated by a small eye next to each layer in the layers palette. To insert a photo into a template, select the photo layer in the layers palette. Then, use the magic wand tool to select the black area. Next, open the photo you'd like to insert, and press Crtl+A to select all, and then Crtl+C to copy. Now, go back to the template (with the black area still selected) and press Shift+Ctrl+V to "paste into." Now you can resize your image with the transform controls to make it fit appropriately in the opening. (Hold down shift to maintain proportions of your photo.)
