PMA (and What the Duck Giveaway!)
I had the opportunity to visit this year's PMA Trade Show earlier this week. It was held in Anaheim, California. It was so much fun to see all of the new photography gear and gadgets. Below are a few of my favorites:
The new Olympus Pen E-PL-1 Camera. As many of you know, I have Nikon gear, and I LOVE it. But, seriously, this little camera is so super cool. There were at least 3 other manufacturers with "Four Thirds" cameras at the show, but I absolutely loved the Olympus PEN. So cool.
Next, I saw the SteadePod. I so wished that I had one of these for the Disneyland fireworks the night before. It's hard to tell how exactly it works just by looking at it, so I will try to explain. It's like a portable tripod. You attach it to your camera, and pull the little tab at the bottom of the device down to the ground. You step on it, pull the string tight, and wha-la! you have a much steadier camera.
I also loved the MOO booth. Their new Mini Moo Mosaic frames are seriously cool. I totally want a whole bunch of them. This was actually the first time that I had ever seen MOO cards firsthand, and they are simply beautiful. They have wonderful color, and they are printed on an extra heavy cover stock. LOVED them.
Oh, and the bottom picture in the collage? That's me and my hubby and BATMAN!!! My three year old little boy is seriously obsessed with Batman. I wished that he had been there with us, but he was having a wonderful time at Disneyland with his grandma. HP had Batman there so you could have a picture taken with him, and then print your free 8x10 from one of their kiosks. So. Super. Cool.

And, while I was there I did not forget about my friends! They had these ADORABLE What the Duck Plush toys at the PMA Bookstore, and I knew that one of my blog readers would love to have him. So, he is up for grabs.

I LOVE the sunshine!!! I NEED sunshine!!! I love spring so much my heart skips a beat!
Oh how cute!! We'd love him! :)
Spring? I love being barefoot and digging in the dirt...gardening..not just to dig..lol.
After a fairly mild/snowless winter here in Vermont, in the past 24 hours we got 2ft of snow and are now being hit with a Nor'easter and could see another foot. I think I'm not going to be rid of my wool socks for awhile yet :(
CUTE! I love spring, everything seems fresher. Our weather is fairly constant here, so no dramatic changes or anything.
We're in a valley, in B.C. It's overcast all the time, so I can't wait for the sun! And for things to start greening up.
Hmmm... I leave in Hawaii :) But the colors and the smell of SPRING: Priceless ;)
Here in Wyoming we are still in the trenches of Winter! One thing I am most looking forward to when the weather warms up--taking long walks and seeing flowers in bloom!
First: Thanks for the thoughtful & hilarious giveaway. I love What the Duck.
I love spring for several reasons: 1. The beautiful green-happiness of nature. 2. Being in Texas, clients are not fans of snow, and since we've gotten more snow this year than ever in my memory, sessions have been a little scarce. So, I'm looking forward to shooting some fresh, spring sessions. : )
Oh, he's so cute! What I love about springtime is the WARM...to just be able to go outside without wearing a coat and gloves and hat and scarf... *sigh* Can't wait for spring!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I love the return of birds chirping in the morning! Oh spring, where are you....
Awesome giveaway! =) One of the things I love most about spring is when you see the tulip buds popping through the snow...you just *know* that they worked sooo hard to work their way through the cold icy snow, *just* to make you happy! They make me VERY happy! =)
I just love being able to put my windows down, so wonderful!
i love the warm southern wind. that's how i know spring is here!!
oh it sounds like you had so much fun!
I want that little guy, LOL.. I really need to take time to go to more of these, FAB!
I have a love/hate relationship with spring because I love winter sports and I hate to see them end but I love summer and after spring is summer :)
Thanks for the fun contest!

I love that Easter is in the Spring. It's so fun to prepare for Easter with kids. That duck you're giving away would be a great toy to use to get kids to smile in photo shoots.
I love watching my flowers pop up from the cold brown earth....renewing it with green and color and making it beautiful again. It has started here in Idaho...a little! :)
The smell! There's something about the rain and the flowers combined that makes spring smell so good.
I am seriously jealous! A photography convention AND Disneyland???
What I love about spring is there is no snow on the ground!
I miss CA!
I love the flowers, sun anything but the snow we are getting.
Looks like you had a great time, i'm excited to get more info on all the cool products you found! LOVE the picture of you, hubby and Batman - COOL!!
I love just being outside in the spring. The smells, the sounds, the crisp air ... i love it all!
Oh my youngest would have peed his pants with excitement if he had seen Batman! Looks like you had fun.
I love spring gardening and the warm feeling of the sun on my back, with the cool breeze blowing on my face. Ah, Springtime hurry up!!
I love the energy I feel on a sunny, crisp Spring day and how I feel like I can accomplish anything!
Love taking my kids outside after months of being couped up & crazy!!!
I love everything about spring - I don't need to wear socks anymore (claustrophobic feet), everything's fresh & colorful...the smell of flowers & fresh cut grass; not to mention my favorite thing to photograph is flowers.
Flowers. I love the daffodils, tulips and hyacinths.
I love the colors of spring. With all the flowers and trees coming alive again.
After spending all winter stuck indoors, not caring to venture out into a forsaken sub zero wasteland - the thing I love most about spring is the warmth.
My favorite part about spring is all the flowers starting to burst thru the ground...right now I have lovely hyacinths popping up, just green spears now but I can't wait to see the color...
I love the tiny little buds on the trees. :)
So much fun! My favorite part of spring?? NOT being winter anymore!! Oh. And the worm smell you get after a rain. I love that too :)
Love him! My favorite thing about spring is how it smells after it rains. It's different than winter, everything smells alive and fresh and I love it.
The best thing about spring is the tulips blooming and the trees coming into color.
The crisp but pleasant mornings where I can snag a quiet cup of coffee outside and watch the sun rise!
I love spring becaue I can put away the shovel!
I love Spring's promise of new life.
I love the way the spring bulbs poke their heads through the snow just as spring is starting. When you don't think you can take another day of winter, you see this small bit of spring showing it's face.
Spring is early in Portland, OR and I just love all the new growth and the cherry blossoms that line the streets. Don't hate me. :)
I love seeing the first buds on the trees and when the tulips begin to push through the soil. I can hardly wait for the snow to melt here in MN!
I love a good spring shower followed by sunshine! Nothing like a warm rain shower while sitting on the front porch!
I love that I get to plant tomatoes!
